Since I started teaching 25 years ago, I have been prolific in gathering and creating resources for teaching and learning.

When I started out in teaching and again whenever I started a new course or subject, I always over-planned and over printed or photocopied resources for my groups. Now that I am more confident and mainly teach either in a special school or online, I no longer need to print forests worth of reources every week. I have always felt guilty about over-preparing and wasting paper so, being environmentally conscious, I have built up a huge resource bank made up of spare and unused copies which includes resources for learning everything from phonics to French, pizza fractions to science fiction and ratios for smoothies to changes in puberty! 

Over the last decade, I have experienced first-hand with my children the complete failure (I'm biting my tongue and holding back rage-ranting) of mainstrem schools. I have come across so many families who are forced into un-schooling and thrust into home-educating on a shoe string without a route map or a minute to breathe.

I can't be the only teacher storing piles of resources whilst families with traumatised kids at home struggle to find their way through the cacophony of apps and websites vying for attention and demanding bank details. Are there piles of photopies getting binned each week at your school? What happens to the copies for the kids who can't make it through the door that day? 

It's a seed of an idea and a work in progress, but even if I can spark an idea, inspire a creative dive into a topic or jog a memory, I would love to help by sharing my resources for free or for a donation which can help me to continue to support my own kids who are out of school.

I hope I can help the not-fine-in-schoolers and the wits-end parents and carers trying to find meaning and purpose in this current chaos by sharing resources. I don't yet have a home for my reslurce bank but watch this space and in the meantime, please get in touch if you think I can help you.
